As a Columbia Sportswear employee, I consider myself blessed. My love of writing and eye for radical design have fueled my passion to evolve the brand through visual storytelling. I’m proud to work for Columbia, an ethical company that doesn’t brag much, but quietly goes about making great gear and unlocking the outdoors for everyone. Hope to see you out there. Way, way out there.
An email about Columbia’s famed Performance Fishing Gear, which enjoys a cultish following. I enjoy writing about fishing, as I come from a long line of anglers.
An email featuring the iconic Bonehead shirt, which never seems to go out of style. This time-tested classic is truly part shirt, part fish.
A site page featuring one of three initiatives my team and I created during Columbia’s partnership with Lucasfilm to produce an exclusive line of jackets inspired by the movie Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back™.
This email definitely made die-hard Star Wars fans’ hearts beat faster. The jackets sold out in mere minutes.
Columbia’s industry-leading technologies enable consumers to enjoy the outdoors regardless of weather. Our goal? To explain technologies in terms real people could understand. Forget the science, what’s in it for me?

An ad I wrote for Columbia’s revolutionary OutDry™ Extreme waterproofing technology. Copy was used online and in-store to help launch the campaign. As a native Oregonian, I’m an expert on rain!
Here, I brainstormed (no pun intended) a way to explain the three levels of Columbia rainwear with: “Drizzle, Downpour, Deluge”, used online and in-store and as a merchandising tool.
The first holiday season of Columbia’s “Tested Tough” campaign. Chairman Gert Boyle was our inspiration, and I even got to sit down with her and write “Gertisms”. Quite an honor, I must say.

Writing for SOREL has been a pleasure. Function-informed fashion is just about as good as it gets. SOREL’s expert craftsmanship and bold, edgy designs have brought out my best efforts to do the brand justice.
Most of us end up shopping for ourselves, even during the holidays. This seasonal campaign embraced the concept.
There is the spirit of a boot in every SOREL shoe, even warm-weather styles.
Spring never looked so good…
A fun Halloween email. Can you spot the pun in the headline?
When SOREL launched it’s handbag line, we created the “What’s in Your Bag” campaign featuring SOREL insiders.
The SOREL woman became a “Style Pioneer” during this season of rustic glam.
A site update for the “Outdoor Lux” campaign.
A Gift Guide email.
An email playing up our “bad girl in good boots” image. Fitting for the holidays.
And a “holiday lights” theme…
